A questionnaire was used to identify factors affecting effective communication based on systems theory. Descriptive analysis and Pearson’s correlation were used to analyse the results. The results for H1 showed a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.642 which is statistically insignificant if the (sig. 2-tailed) < 0.05 indicating that there was no statistical significant relationship between management and channel of communication used. However, the results from H2 indicated that there was a relationship between Channel of communication used and effective communication with a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.041 at (sig. 2tailed) < 0.05. Lastly the correlation results from H3 showed that effective communication has a positive effect on organizational performance at (sig. 2-tailed) < 0.05 indicating a Pearson’s correlation coefficient of 0.012
